Smith, Combs, Stotts and Adams take K-C victory laurels
K-C Raceway results 5-10-08 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
By Scott Wolfe
CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-Finally, good weather greeted fans and drivers at Jim Nier’s K-C Raceway Saturday night where Bethel, Ohio's Rick Combs claimed the exciting 25-lap late model feature and Chillicothe's newfound hero, veteran Danny Smith claimed the high-velocity 410 Sprint Car main. Athens, Ohio’s Chris Stotts won his second consecutive K-C modified main, and Jamey Adams claimed the close Hobby Stock victory.
In the late model main, pole-sitter and dash winner Ben Adkins took the early lead, dicing for the top spot with outside pole man Keith Berner and the hard-charging Combs. Adkins owned the early going, but on lap five Adkins developed a flat tire and had to go to the rear of the 21-car field. About the same time Combs took the next spot over Berner to assume the lead.
Berner was in hot pursuit the entire race. Each lap, however, Adkins picked off one or two cars in a torrid charge from last to the front. Meanwhile, defending champ Delmas Conley and son Rod Conley battled it out for fourth place until contact between the two sent son Rod spinning wildly into the front stretch wall and out of the race.
On lap thirteen Josh Bocook was bidding for a top-ten run,............Read More from 5-10-2008

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO-"Go West Young man, go West," said Horace Mann to the early settlers. One of the original outlaws, Danny Smith-- not yet set on ‘settling’ down-- instead headed East from Indiana where he brought home two victories for the weekend. The second win came at Jim Nier's K-C Raceway where Smith continued a string of success at the famed Southern Ohio track. Second generation driver R.J. Conley claimed the late model main over Jackie Boggs, while Chris Stotts of Shade, Ohio claimed a last-lap win over Doug Adkins. In the same fashion Jamey Adams of Laurelville made a last-lap pass of race-long leader Tommy Mossbarger to pull off the win in the Hobby Stock division.

Nier Family announces "Thank You"
By Scott Wolfe
CHILLICOTHE, OHIO- Despite near-freezing temperatures, Saturday's Lucas Oil Late Model special was a success at Jim Nier's K-C Raceway, where Eddie Carrier, Jr. of Salt Fork, WV brought home the $10,000 winner's share of the "Glockner 50".
"K-C Raceway and the entire Nier family would like to say "Thank You" to all the fans who braved the elements to make the event success," said Jim Nier patriarch of the Nier Motorsports family. "We appreciate the fans, drivers, sponsors, track crew and everyone who helped make the event possible, especially when it looked like the odds were against us (racing). We appreciate the effort everyone made and hope everyone enjoyed the show."
Besides a caution-marred opening 16 laps, the racing was excellent with numerous lead changes and racing deep into the pack. Scott Bloomquist and Bart Hartman swapped the lead earlier, then it was a series of exchanges between Bloomquist and eventual Carrier, who gradually pulled away during the last seven laps.
The next four weekends ( April 19, April 26, May 3 and May 10) will feature Full Racing programs at the Southern Ohio arena of speed. Racing continues this week at the fast 3/8 mile dirt track where a full racing program of 410 Outlaw Sprints, Late Models, Modifieds, and Hobby Stocks are on the racing card.
General Admission for regular events is $14 ages 13 to adult. Students 12-and-under are free and pit passes are $25 for a regular show.
K-C Raceway is located 12 miles south of Chillicothe, Ohio three miles off SR 23 on Blain Highway at Alma. For further information please call 740-663-4141 or 740-289-4114; or visit the K-C website at << www.kc-raceway.com >>

CHILLICOTHE, OHIO--Eddie Carrier Jr. the King of K-C Raceway; Veteran Driver Wins Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Glockner 50"
Chillicothe, OH (April 12, 2008)- Eddie Carrier Jr. of Salt Rock, WV raced into the lead on lap 31 and then withstood the challenges of Scott Bloomquist as he captured the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series "Glockner 50"on Saturday Night at K-C Raceway. In a race slowed by 12 cautions the race for the lead lasted all 50 laps as Carrier pocketed $10,000 for himself and car owner Carl Grover before the cameras of SPEED Channel who was on hand to tape the event. Bloomquist finished in second followed by John Blankenship, Billy Drake and Earl Pearson Jr. Steve Bigley of Coolville, Ohio drag-raced outside pole sitter Jamey Adams into the first turn and led every lap of the 15-lap Hobby Stock feature event as part of the Glockner Toyota Night.
Carrier who started alongside Bloomquist on the front row of the race fell back to as far as fourth in running order at one point charged into the second spot on lap 30 just one circuit before he overtook Bloomquist for the lead. The two drivers ran distinctive grooves over the final 20 laps running side by side on several occasions until Carrier was able to open enough breathing room as he had to hold off a last lap Bloomquist charge that fell just short at the finish line.
Completing the top ten were Matt Miller, Donnie Moran, Bart Hartman, Dan Schlieper and Steve Casebolt.
In preliminary action Wayne Chinn took the PRC Fast Time over the 52 entrants with a lap of 14.483 seconds around the 3/8ths mile oval. Heat race winners were Wayne Chinn, Eddie Carrier Jr., Bart Hartman and Scott Bloomquist. The B-mains victors were Dan Schlieper and Doug Drown.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will next be in action on Friday Night, April 25th at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, PA for a $7,000 to win event followed on Saturday Night, April 26th as the series travels to Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD for the $10,000 to win "Stanley Schetrompf Memorial."
In the companion Hobby Stock main, Bigley reached lapped traffic by lap five and sliced-and-diced through the congestion to a convincing win over former champion Jamey Adams. In posting the win, Bigley is now 5-for-6 in his last few visits to K-C Raceway, where he has impressively put his Ed Gillian 33 Auto Sales/Discount Pool Supply #33 Chevrolet in the top spot.
Bigley endured a couple late race restarts, but each time was able to distance himself from the hard-charging Adams. Aaron Chesser came home a solid third, ahead of Tommy Mossbarger who shared "Hard Charger" honors with Joe Buskirk. Rounding out the top ten were Bruce Gray, Jr., Jim Hildebrand, Rob Smith, Jamie Dailey, Joe Buskirk, and Aaron Forcum.
Racing continues this week at the fast 3/8 mile dirt track where a full racing program of 410 Outlaw Sprints, Late Models, Modifieds, and Hobby Stocks are on the racing card. Full racing programs with two premier divisions are on the slate for April 19 and April 26.
Due to increased operating costs and increased fuel prices for track equipment, K-C is forced to raise its gate prices for regular events to $14. This is the first price increase in nearly 15 years, and K-C sincerely regrets having to post any increase.
