ATTENTION ALL RACE FANS........

Publicist calls fans to sense of urgency

Racine, Ohio's Scott Wolfe, a life-long race fan and racing publicist for over 25 years, is calling upon the racing fraternity to join together in a call to urgency to support the sport it loves most- Motorsports and all of Dirt track racing. Wolfe noted, "Already in 2009, the famed Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Arizona and the Jennerstown, PA Speedway have announced they will be closed. Challenger Speedway is holding off starting the season and many other tracks have trimmed their schedules in anticipation of poor attendance. We as race fans have to take a stand now. If you lose a local track, it's very difficult to see it resurrected."

"Never would I sacrifice the needs of my family, nor would I ask anyone to do that," said Wolfe. "However, the next few years are going to be tough on racing, unless we all continue to support it. There are ways to cut back and still get to the races. Car pooling, bringing snacks, and encouraging new race fans to join in the fun."

"I work for Skyline Speedway and K-C Raceway, and I want you to support us. I wouldn't be doing a very good job if I didn't, but I know if the track down the road is prospering then most likely the state of racing will remain solvent and our tracks will also. Please get out and support your local dirt track. Once it’s gone, it's probably gone forever."

Wolfe encourages current race fans to bring new fans into racing and to get the kids involved. "If racing has a young fan base, racing will be strong for years to come," the veteran racer said. "Race drivers have to get their neighbors and their co-workers to the track. Fans have to get some other fans into the sport. That is going to be the only way to keep ticket prices down and to keep racing alive."

"Racing is still a great bargain! For between $10 and $15 bucks you can see a great racing program as opposed to some concerts and NASCAR tickets that are well in excess of $50-80. And for $30 bucks you can get in the pits and rub elbows with the stars. Anyone can! How often does the ordinary man get to go back stage at a concert or fraternize with the stars of Wrestlemania. It just doesn't happen anywhere else."

"Asking friends and asking for sponsors is like asking someone to go to church. Sometimes it is hard. Sometimes it is awkward. Having strong faith, I would ask you ask someone to church first, but if you can ask someone to a race that would be the next best thing. Besides the tracks I work at I know other promoters are going to gear their seasons on how well opening night goes. Race fans get to work; the time is now to act. Next year may be too late."

"I challenge each of you to pass along e-mails on a weekly basis and to get one new fan a week in the stands. Let's keep the sport we have and in the end it just might grow."

Skyline Speedway in Stewart, Ohio races every Friday night, beginning Late April . K-C Raceway starts with a racing special on April 9 with the AMRA Road Warriors. K-C runs every Saturday night throughout the summer with the exception of a few dates.

DTWC

Not only will the $50,000 to win DTWC be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2011, but also the event will move to a familiar venue, back to the state of Ohio to K-C Raceway in Chillicothe. The DTWC sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will take place on October 13th, 14th, 15th of 2011 and be back at the racetrack that hosted the event in the past with great success. Earl Pearson Jr. is the defending champion of the DTWC, winning the event at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, West Virginia in 2010.

With the Carl Short owned Hillbilly 100 already sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, it was a natural fit for Carl to sanction the DTWC with the LOLMDS. "After weighing all the factors I felt the time was right to sanction the DTWC with Lucas Oil. With the tremendous success we've had the past several years with sanctioning the Hillbilly 100 with Lucas Oil, and how well they run the show, the support and marketing benefits within their organization, the professional staff, and everything they can bring to an event, it just makes good business sense to partner with a great company like Lucas Oil", stated Carl Short.

Carl Short has developed a great relationship with Jeff and Vickie Schrader, owners of KC Raceway and is very impressed on how they have taken over that facility and run it since purchasing the track in 2009. K-C Raceway is a fast 3/8-mile dirt track located just east of Cincinnati, Ohio and runs both super late model and winged sprint cars throughout the year. To learn more about K-C Raceway you can visit their official website at www.kc-raceway.com.

In addition to sanctioning the event by the LOLMDS, Appliancezone.com has come on board as the title sponsor of the DTWC presented by Lucas Oil for 2011. This event will be one of the most "must attend" dirt late model events of the year in 2011. Jim Allen, CEO of Appliance Zone has some big things in store for this race and for dirt late model fans for the entire 2011 season. More big announcements are coming, related to this event and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

"We have a great relationship with Carl and the Hillbilly 100 and now were excited to be a part of such a great event as the DTWC. To have his $50,000 to win DTWC and all the history of the event on our schedule gives our series a huge platform to end the season on and crown our champion. We are also thrilled to have Jim Allen and his company ApplianceZone.com supports this event and the series in 2011. ApplianceZone has some big things in store for 2011 and we're excited about their support and enthusiasm for dirt late model racing", stated Ritchie Lewis, series director.

With the addition of the DTWC event to the series final event there will be a slight change to the schedule for the Dixie Shootout Weekend at Dixie Speedway on October 7-8th. The Dixie Shootout presented by Lucas Oil at Dixie Speedway will now go back to a one day $10,000 to win event on Saturday October 8th. Then on Sunday October 9th the series will go back to Rome Speedway for the "Rome Rumble" paying $10,000 to win, moving that event from the July 10th date that was originally on the 2011 schedule.

K-C RACEWAY SIGNS WITH AMRA amra
ADDS TITLE SPONSOR FOR POINTS IN BAZELL OIL
By Scott Wolfe

WAVERLY, OHIO- At its recent awards’ banquet, K-C Raceway owner/promoter Jeff Schrader made two big announcements in revealing that K-C has signed on with the American Motor Racing Association (AMRA) to sanction its Modifieds and Late Models; and has also signed on with Bazell Oil Company and its subsidiary Bazell Race Fuels out of Logan, Ohio as the Points’ Title sponsor for 2010. The 2010 K-C Points’ series will now be known as the Bazell Race Fuels Points’ Series.
AMRA President Larry Keefer said, “The AMRA is excited to sign K-C Raceway as one of its tracks. K-C is a first class facility with a first class reputation. The AMRA is on solid ground with our modified division, and with the signing of K-C we have gained some momentum in growing our late model series to the status of our modified division. This joint effort will be good for the AMRA and also good for K-C Raceway and its drivers.”
Schrader said, “It’s a win-win situation for us and for our drivers. Last week, I attended the AMRA banquet and saw nearly $56,000 distributed to drivers and car owners. $39,000 of that went to the modifieds. Now our drivers can be a part of this. If it is good for our drivers, then it can only be good for K-C Raceway.”
Schrader added, “The AMRA is well-established in the modified ranks and has seen a lot of growth since its inception. It is an honor to be a member track of the AMRA.”
K-C will run Late Models with an “open-tire rule”. Drivers will have to join AMRA to participate in the points’ fund. Applications are available on the AMRA website : << http://www.amramodified.com >> Modified drivers will follow all the AMRA rules with the tire rule in effect. This means no major change to the modified division as K-C has predominantly run under AMRA rules, excepting tires, over the past seven seasons.
Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley in Parkersburg, WV will also add to the K-C Points’ fund and weekly purse, helping along the union between K-C and the AMRA. Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley supplies all types of Hoosier Racing Tires and apparel. K-C will continue to host modifieds as AMRA Advanced Services Modifieds. Advance Services H & C continues as the Modified title sponsor.
“Bazell Race Fuels, Hoosier Tire Ohio Valley, and the AMRA all stepped up to the plate,” said Schrader. “We are working with other sponsors and look for a great 2010 season.” Earlier K-C signed with Goodyear for its sprint car series.
An indication to the money available to drivers is evidenced by last week’s payout of point money. The top five in MALTA-AMRA National Points for modifieds were National Champion Jeremy Berwanger who took home $5,000, Brett Hamilton, Powhatan, Virginia ($2500); Joe Cox, Beckley, West Virginia ($2000); Jeremy Blake, Guysville, Ohio ($1,800); and Doug Henry, Beverly, Ohio ($1,700). Twelfth place in points paid $1,200 while 35th earned $255. Additional monies went to Road Warrior Challenge drivers, a traveling division of the AMRA. Another $12,000 in contingencies went to AMRA drivers. $3,000 went to LM champ Harold Redman, Jr.
Bazell is distributor of Sunoco Race Fuels. An ultra high performance leaded racing fuel designed for racing engines with very high compression ratios, Sunoco HCR Plus is ideally suited for applications in sustained high load / high RPM conditions. Bazell also distributes other racing fuels including “ALKY”, a long-time favorite of sprints, karters, and truck pullers. Alky Racing Alcohol is now branded Sunoco, combining two of the best known and most respected names in the racing industry.
Other big announcements are slated for K-C Raceway. For more information, please contact << www.kc-raceway.com >>
Even bigger plans with more participating tracks are set for the most prestigious AMRA season yet in 2010. Visit the AMRA website for further upcoming details.
Malta Windows and Doors was the title sponsor of the AMRA Modified division in 2009. Together Malta and AMRA continue to grow. Fans benefitted from the newly formed union as Malta Windows and Doors awarded a 10% discount to any order when the Malta AMRA modified series was mentioned to the dealer of its products. Additionally, lucky fans were awarded a $100 gift certificate at every Malta AMRA show.
More details can be acquired by visiting << www.maltawindows.net >> on the web or visiting << http://www.amramodified.com >>
